Dead by Daylight is a horror game you can play on any gaming platform. I've been playing Dead by Daylight for as long as I can remember and I have seen how much it's been developing over time. A lot has changed since the first time I played the game. I first heard of Dead by Daylight from watching YouTube videos by a famous YouTuber H20 Delirious. Not only will I give you tips about Dead by Daylight, but I will also talk about how much has changed since I started playing till now. This game is basically about two sides. The first side is playing as a survivor and escaping from the killer. A survivors objectives consist of:
When I first started playing. there wasn't any toxicity going on in the game. Now, people have figured out ways to just be mean.
Survivors and Killers can be toxic in their own way. Killers are toxic because they think they are better than survivors and that they can take advantage of them. This means they will do anything to win.
For Example: When a player is a killer, they tend to leave the last survivor on the ground. Sometimes in front of the hatch, the killer closes it. Not to mention, right in front of the player's face. Knowing that was the player's only chance to escape.
Survivors are toxic because they have the numbers. So they also take advantage of this as well. Technically, the survivor's motive really isn't to win like the killer's motive.
For Example: When a player is a survivor, and the exit gates are open, they typically tend to teabag and wait for the killer to get there. Then the survivor escapes. Not to mention, they will block hooks on the killer. This is done so the killer can't put the survivor on the hook.
Since I'm a player and have had experiences with toxic killers, it hasn't really ruined my gameplay. However, it can ruin gameplay for other people. Especially, if they are not patient enough with toxic people.
My advice would be to watch for toxic players. If need be, you can always report them after the match is finished or when you get killed.
Crouching allows a survivor to be harder to track by the killer. Killers can follow your trail when your running and it helps the killer find you faster. Plus, crouching allows you not to be spotted when you are hiding.
For Example: During a match, it's easier to crouch. That way you're not easily tracked by the killer.
In Dead by Daylight, there are perks that boost survivors' and killers' stats. Urban evasion is a perk that is teachable for Nea Karlsson. Not to mention, it also boosts crouching speed. So that way when you're crouching, you will be able to move faster.
With my experience playing as a survivor and starting a match, I always crouch. Crouching has definitely helped me evade the killer if he or she is nearby.
Since I main on survivor, I have been doing survivor challenges. Besides, I'm not really good at playing the role of a killer. I like surviving!!
According to research, Dead by Daylight archives are to help players explore the lore of the game. Archives also help set new goals for a variety of players and it consists of tomes. Which are challenges. Challenges that are completed will award you blood points.
When Dead by Daylight first came out, there wasn't an alternative way to earn rewards such as blood points and blood shards. I waited a while but I did start playing before they updated the game and put challenges.
Tomes consist of sets of challenges. However, you can pick challenges between survivors and killers. You can only accept one challenge at a time. Basically, after accepting a challenge, you will need to complete it in order to accept another one.
The Rift also consists of tomes. The tomes in the Rift do consist of more challenges. In addition, completing the Rift challenges will reward you with Rift Fragments. These fragments unlock Tier levels in the Rift, according to the research.
First of all, you receive blood points by completing challenges from archives, doing different tasks in a match, and escaping.
Another amazing thing about blood points is, you get those all the time. Especially, if you don't win a match. You get blood points even for your effort!!
Basically, blood points are one of the Dead by Daylight currencies in the game. However, it's not the only currency in the game.
Once receiving blood points, you can use them in the blood web. The blood web consists of items, offerings, perks, and add ons'. You use the blood points you are rewarded after a match and redeem them in the blood web.
Redeeming blood points in the blood web will definitely benefit you in matches. However, they will not benefit you all the time! If the match was not a good match, the items you took with you, will be gone forever.
Since there are all kinds of different stuff on the blood web, it is definitely a good idea to read about the stuff that's available. Reading about whats's on the blood web will help you learn about the various choices you have to use.
For Example: Let's say you need to heal yourself when the killer hits you and escaped from his or her sight. A medkit can be used to heal yourself and others who are injured. It can also have add ons to buff the item.
Iridescent shards are received by leveling up your player account level. They are used in the store. In addition, you use iridescent shards to get costumes or outfits for your character. Basically, it's just used for styling your character up.
However, it's not very often you receive iridescent shards. The only time I have ever seen iridescent shards is when leveling my player account level.
Well when your survivor or killer reaches level 50, there is no more room to progress. Technically, you don't have to prestige them but any more items you get from the blood web will not be any better.
If you decide you don't want to prestige your survivor or killer, your character level will stay at a level 50. However, you will still receive new stuff from the blood web.
You will definitely have a higher chance of getting better items, add ons, perks, and offerings. Not only do you get better items, but you will also receive bloody cosmetics as well.
There is also a disadvantage when you prestige. You will lose all of your items, perks, add ons, and offerings you have gained redeeming blood points at the blood web.
I did prestige once or twice with my main survivor Nea Karlsson (I don't remember exactly how many times). Yes, I lost everything and I was upset because I worked hard to earn what I got. When I used the blood web again, after I prestige Nea Karlsson, I got most of everything back. Including better items than I had before.
So, just a friendly reminder. If you are thinking of trying this game, I highly suggest taking in all the information I have here.
