LifeAfter: Tips For Beginners!

My personal tips on a mobile survival game called LifeAfter. If you plan to play this game, I recommend reading this article before hand.

I've been playing LifeAfter for a while now. Although, I couldn't tell you specifically how long.

Is LifeAfter a Free Game?

The game is free to download on any mobile device. Including android and IOS. According to research, LifeAfter is also free to download on PC.

How much space does LifeAfter take up?

Just be aware of how much space it's going to take up on your phone or tablet. Letting you know now that it's a really big game and takes up a good amount of storage.

LifeAfter takes up about 75M of storage space and that's not including more updates and in-game content coming to the game.

Make sure you have an SD card or microSD card to save the file on. That way you aren't going through your phone deleting apps, photos, music, etc.

1. Save Up on Resources!

Most survival games have you pick up resources to craft tools right? Well same with LifeAfter. But instead of trying to craft as soon as you get the right amount of resoucres, save them up.

Why save up on resources?

Once you save up those resources, you can craft more stuff. Including quest items. Saving up resources lets you craft bundles of stuff you need. I definitely recommend saving as much as you can so you can get most of the tutorial missions done.

What kind of resources are there?

There are primary and secondary of resources you are gonna need to progress further in the game. The primary resources your gonna need to save up is listed below:

  • Wood - you will need a lot of this to craft many things. Especially, structure stuff for your manor. It's also used for crafting tools you need to gather resources.
  • Stone - apart from wood, these are also needed to craft axes, pickaxes, and structure stuff for your manor (which is also what you need wood for).
  • Hemp - these are used in crafting bandages. When you get hit by an enemy, bandages are used to heal you. It uses up to 9 hemps to craft bandages.

What are Secondary Resources?

These type of resources can be picked up while gathering primary resources. Different kinds of resources will have a different background color. Primary resources have a background color of grey. Secondary resources have background colors of green and blue. Examples of secondary resources are listed below:

  • Hardwood Vine - these are found only when gathering wood from trees in the rain.
  • Twig - these can be found when gathering wood with a low mastery level.
  • Wood Core - these can be found by gathering wood with a high mastery level.
  • Resin - these can also be found by gathering wood with a high mastery level.
  • Wooden Boards - these are crafted from wood and used for creating cabinets and other stuff.

2. Make Sure You Join a Camp ASAP!

When you start the game, after the tutorial, you will be sent to what's called a Development Zone. All beginners are sent here and will show you how to build a Manor.

What is a Camp?

I know some of you gaming people have heard of the term alliance or guild in online games right? Well, a camp is another term for alliance and guild. Of course, it gives you benefits as well.

What kind of benefits do Camps have?

When you join a camp your Manor will be moved to the camp you got accepted into. Nothing will change once your manor is moved.

Camps have the benefit of moving with your friends. There are also shops where you can buy certain resources to craft quest items or stuff for your Manor. A camp also gives you the benefit of having a Roommate.

Roommates are friends you can move in with on the game. You can split storage, give each other resourcels, help build manors, and much more.

Another benefit to a camp is the camp chest. It's a lunchbox for every member, but you can only have it once a day.

3. PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR METERS!

What is the Hunger Meter?

Your hunger meter is very important in LifeAfter. When you are gathering resources, you use up a hunger. If you don't have any food on you then you die pretty easily. I would suggest gathering as many berries as possible. The hunger meter shows if you are hungry or not.

What is the HP Meter?

The HP meter is the green bar above the hunger meter. This indicates your characters health. So when you get attacked by enemies, the HP meter is the one you should look at. Especially, when you are about to be killed.

What is the Health Meter?

The Health meter is the grey bar below the hunger meter. There isn't detailed information with the research done. Health meters will recover overtime. In addition, you can always go to the bed and rest or log off and it will restore your health. That way when you log back in it will be at 100%.

4. Build Storage in Your Manor!

Image from AppGamer.com

In my experience with LifeAfter, I built cabinets to store all the items I'm going to need later. After I'm finished doing a quest or gathering resources, I organize my stuff so I know where it is.

Why do you need Storage in LifeAfter?

Storage helps if you have gathered too many resources, secondary resources, or if you crafted better items and want to save them. Not to mention, if you don't have a lot of a specific item and need to save it.

Storage also helps if you are in a hurry and need to put stuff away quickly. It can also help when building and upgrading your manor. While crafting, resources will automatically be implemented from your cabinets and what you will have in your inventory.

What is the Vault for your property?

According to the research, you will only be able to get this if your Manor level requirement is met. The Manor level requirement is 3. When the requirement is met, there will be a Manor controller on the fence next to your gate. In addition, you will need to join the security plan and will only cost you 500 new dollars. This is nothing because new dollars are pretty easy to come by in LifeAfter.

The Vault is just an added backup storage that has security. It's basically there if you don't want your stuff taken by raiders. If you crafted something you have never crafted before or you found something you have never seen before, it would be a good idea to put it in the Vault.

5. Fall Forest Tips!

Be Sure To Find a Helicopter to Fly to This Location!! You can find one at your Development Zone and in your Camp!!

When you first get to the Fall Forest, you will notice on your map that there are several little islands to the Fall Forest. Be aware though, the further you go the harder the enemies get.

So if you are like me on your first playthrough, then you will just focus on gathering resources. Including food items that will help you cook food. When you first arrive, you will be spawned right in front of a cabin.

What are the Cabins used for?

This is one of the safe places on the map. These cabins will keep you safe from the weather and enemies. While you are in the cabin you can cook food, play a memory game, and use the television for different stuff.

The memory game can also provide you with materials!!

Stronger enemies come out at night so it's definitely a good idea to head for a cabin. Especially, if you are not ready to take on stronger enemies! So if you're gathering resources and food items, be sure to pay attention to 3 things:

  • Your Surroundings
  • Your Glowstick
  • Top Right of Your Screen, Above the Mini Map

There will also be more safe cabins in the Fall Forest as well. Just be sure to look for them on your map when you feel confident enough to go to another island.

Why Should You be Aware of Weather Status?

You will not have to worry about the weather when you are at your Manor or Hope 101. The weather can affect you if you are not paying attention.

When it's raining, it's so easy for you to get sick and you will not be able to sprint or run. Don't worry though, the sickness only lasts for a couple of minutes. When it storms, the lightning can strike you and almost kill you.

Can you stay out in bad Weather?

There are different resources and food items that show up during the storm. Mushrooms can only be gathered during a thunderstorm and they can be used in cooking as well. Hardwood Vines also can only be gathered in the rain and they can be used in crafting fishing rods and hexagon nails.
