If You're A Parent And Need A Laugh, This Post Is For You

Just a few parenting memes that made me laugh. If you know you know.

Parenting is hard.  It's incredibly rewarding but oh my gosh is it difficult.  You will go insane at some point, no matter how much you feel like you have everything together.  At some point, you will break.  It happens to the best of us.  However, there is always humor in the difficult things.  As a parent, you have to be able to find the humor in parenting or you will not make it out of this alive. (Dramatic I know, but if you're a parent, you get it.)

Kids can be incredibly persistent!  Great life quality to have, but sometimes for a parent it can be draining.  Having someone ask you the same thing over and over again can get downright annoying.  This meme sums up what it appears a child is thinking after asking you a billion times for the same thing over and over again.  Who doesn't love a Dumb and Dumber reference.  This is one most people who have seen the movie really remember too.

I feel like this really captures boys in particular.  They love to make these crazy noises and sound effects at the most random times.  I say boys in particular because this is just a difference in the sexes that I have noticed.  Boys are just rowdier in general and this is the kind of stuff they tend to do.  However, it is quite hilarious so when it happens you can't help but laugh.

I have to say, this one just resonates so much with me.  I absolutely need my coffee before anything.  My day does not begin until I've finished my coffee.  As a parent, coffee has become quite the necessity just to make it through the day, much less the morning.   Questions I usually here from my toddler: what are we doing today? Do I have school? Can I watch something?  Give me a minute kid! We just woke up!

This, 100%.  Little Lion has been waking up incredibly earlier than usual lately; I'm talking 5:30/6 o'clock as opposed to 7/7:30 like he was.  I still use a monitor so I know when he wakes up so when he's up, I can hear him.  He usually asks to turn his light on or go downstairs.  Because of his earlier than usual wake up time, I'm still in bed.  I miss the days when I could sleep in.  Now, sleeping in is 7 am.

Seriously.  After the billionth time of watching them do a spin you almost feel like you're going insane.  They just want to show you something they think is cool and fun to them but they don't yet realize that just because they enjoy doing something over and over again, that we want to watch it that many times.

I'm very much guilty of this.  My mother was very much guilty of this and Little Lion will very much be guilty of this.  I have to say, cussing has been the one thing that's been impossible for me to filter since having a child.  I'm so set in my own ways of speaking that I just can't help it.  Now, obviously, he knows his name isn't "fuc*," but he loves to cuss just as much as I can't help doing so.  We do tend to laugh when he does so I'm sure that's not helping his love of cussing to cease.

Pretty much.  If a parent says they will think about it, it more often than not means no.  I've definitely been guilty of this.  And this meme captures that feeling perfectly.  Sometimes letting them think something is a possibility makes them not think about it as much and I get a bit of a reprieve from them asking.

This is so true.  It's all fun and games to them when they're doing something we know very well will end up with them getting hurt and then that knowledge becomes the outcome.  Kids love to test their boundaries with parents.  However, parents usually know best and when we tell our kids not to do something and they end up getting hurt like we thought so, it's very easy to want to say "I told you so."  We usually refrain though.  I tend to chuckle a little because they were warned.

Yes, yes, yes!  Sometimes we need a little time to just zone out on social media.  It's not like we are on it all the time.  If the kids are playing, are happy and can't hurt themselves, I think parents need a little downtime to check up on things that interest them as well.  It's called multi-tasking and if there's anyone who excels at that it's a parent.
