When you become a mother your mind is introduce to many new things.

"The moment the child is born the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new."

- Bhagwan Shree Rajnessh

It's amazing to find out your having a baby! Most of us experience crazy thoughts while we were pregnant in which we questioned ourselves on becoming a parent or, if we will be the same person as we were before the baby. I know! There's a lot that runs through your head . When I was pregnant I'll admit my brain was racing with what if's and, how can I raise my child.

Most mothers I'm sure were looking for information or, others stories to get prepared for their upcoming date. Here are some things that I know change:

1. Your life

To tell you the truth. Yes your priorities change. Your mind and body changes. Dealing with your first baby is far from a child free life, your main focus is protection, as well as raising your baby the right way without teaching them the wrong but, giving them heads up about the life we live. The person you were then is not who you will be after birth. Trust me so far I know!

We become more protective, sensitive and maybe more open. Once you give birth your body changes too. Many researches discovered our pregnancy hormones and the experience of birth increase our learning techniques.

2. Your Attitude

So far being a mother I realized I"m more relaxed in my mind. Meditation became my best friend. Meditation help me cool my brain and open up peace to my mind. Meditation helps pushes you to think in different ways during and after pregnancy. You become more positive and more outgoing. Once you have a child, you think before you do things. As a mother you think about how your actions impact on your child which, wakes you up because its a human you're raising! Not to mention, as children grow to being adults they copy what's around their presence.

3. More laundry & More cleaning

Once you have a baby, they're so many things you are doing. Babies are messy during and after feedings. You will have a bunch of laundry to do,it can be new clothes old clothes even clothes from a friend or family member. Sometimes you may even forget to do your own due to so much going on. I personally forget to do my own! Babies spit up a lot , and mostly likely they will spit up on your, your clothes and, even their own. Crazy right ? Now on the other hand, cleaning bottles are the number one top priority for babies to prevent sickness.

4. Your body

The hormones in your body are in shocked from pushing a baby out. You may gain a few extra pounds in places your never expected. A few woman may go through a smaller or larger shoe size. However, most woman develop stretch marks in the stomach, hips, waist, inner thigh, and other body parts. Your muscles in your pelvic region loosens up. Your hair is fuller. For better or worse some of these effects stays with you forever but others may fade away.

5. Someone else comes first and its okay

When your baby need you at five in the morning and again at 7 am and again maybe an half hour later. You go to them. Babies need attention, you can be in the bathroom taking a shower, washing dishes, or on your way to the store. Whether it comes down to your baby feeling sick or, the gut feeling that something isn't right then the first mother instinct you get is to follow it. In fact mothers also tend to use their instinct against family and, friends. That is to say, 80% of mothers even put their child first before marriage as a token shown a mother bond with a baby is more deeper then you thought.

6. You take better care of yourself

Mothers need to have a "Me day " throughout the day. Self-care comes from a strong and valuable place within you. A place inside that is fueled with self-confidence, self-love, and self-peace. Although, it can be hard to find a particular time frame to have some " Me time ," since you have other responsibilities. However, we are made to be strong women who can find ways to take care of ourselves therefore, first time moms set reminders or schedule to fit  around babies routine. Once you have your time to your self, try to take a nice warm bath while listening to smooth jazz music. Jazz is more calmer in my opinion! Taking better care of yourself comes naturally after you have a baby because, your mindset is discovering new ideas to calm your body while enjoy your first baby.

Being a Mom

Becoming a first time mom make you feel different inside, you may feel more joyful, sensitive, and delegated. While you're in the hospital they will be prepare you for when you go home with your baby. It's a exciting time because of the new experience for us new moms. I'll admit you realize what love is by opening your heart to another part you never existed. Being a first time mom is a challenge at times you have be patient but at the same time just relax and go with the flow. Nevertheless, you have to be up all night to care for your baby due to, crying, hunger, lack of help, and other adjustments. Your life slowly changes, but at the same time, this journey is teaching the brain to learn how to cope with everything when you feel exhausted. The important thing is to understand how to work under pressure while being positive at the same time. All mothers need to realize we are not perfect, its okay to ask for help, its okay to cry when you need to. We are not alone! I had moments when I had to call my mother for help so, if you need help or advice from anyone call them.
