As human beings, we were born with the natural ability to overcomplicate the simple most simple things in life, That being life itself is only complicated because of the standards we oppose on our natural lives. As human beings, we all share a common interest and that interest is survival. The need to keep existing. When did this process become so complicated? Wealth, power, fame, social status, and the desire to want more. We mentally create fantasies in our minds of tangible things we will never obtain only because someone else has them. This same desire causes us to make irrational decisions in our life. We drill the earth for elements and minerals. We start wars all over the globe. (Think about it, every war that was fought was fought in a country that was full of minerals and elements we covet so desperately.)I'm not saying it's wrong to be ambitious and to have dreams. We must learn to have dreams that are manageable for our unique situations. We need to learn to tailor dreams around the life we currently live. If our dreams get too far out of sync with our reality we will never have the means or intentions to reach such goals. So what do I mean when I say "can psychology save the world?" What I'm really saying is can we retrain our brains to be okay with what we have? Can we truly be satisfied and content with what we have gained thus far in this life? Everyone wants to be rich, who doesn't?  We need to be able to accept the fact that we may never be rich and settle for being comfortable. Getting an education, finding a career we're good at, and starting a family. The system was not meant for everyone to beat just a few. The system was not meant to beat you but to give you a means and a more justifiable way of survival.
