Slimming Tea Vs Dieting?

Before we begin comparing drinking slimming tea with the practice of dieting lets take a look at what they both mean, their history, and health benefits.

Slimming Tea:

Slimming teas are teas that contain caffeine, laxatives, diuretics, and additives that are thought to help promote weight loss, detox, increase metabolism, and aid digestion.

History:

The history of tea dates back to nearly 5000 years ago during the reign of Emperor Shennong of China. It has been detailed in some history books how drinking teas is effective for the five vital organs.

Benefits of Slimming Tea:

Teas contain antioxidants like flavonoids that protect cells from free radicals and ultimately from cancer.

They also boost metabolism which in turn facilitates weight loss. According to Medical News Today, the polyphenols found naturally in green and black teas have shown some promise in assisting weight loss and metabolic improvement.

Dieting:

Is the restriction or regulation of food intake for health or weight loss purposes.

History:

According to Riverview Health, the word diet comes from the Greek word diaita which means a way of life. Skyterra Wellness Retreat states that the first actual diet book “The Art of Living Long” was published in 1558 by Luigi Cornaro an extremely overweight Italian who decided to make a life style change in his dietary habit to daily 12 and 14 ounces of food and wine respectively.

Benefits:

The benefits of dieting are numerous but Weight loss is the primary benefit of dieting. When you diet, you reduce the amount of calorie intake per day. When the amount of calorie burned by daily activity is greater than the calorie intake from food, weight loss occurs. Other benefits are good sleep, strong bones and teeth, better heart health and memory.

Slimming Tea VS Dieting

-Dieting is a healthier alternative to only drinking a slimming tea as slimming tea contains caffeine, laxatives and other additives that affect the health of internal organs in the long run.

- Research has shown that there is no real correlation between drinking slimming tea and long-term weight loss (Medical News Today).

-Slimming tea works better when other activities like exercising and dieting are included.

It is safe to conclude that Dieting is a better alternative to choose from if the goal is long-term weight loss. Below are some effective ways to diet:

-     Intermittent fasting

-        Swapping sodas for water

-        Eating smaller portions

-        Eating healthier alternatives to carbs

  •        Drinking more water
