Sk Monoar Nahid, the name synonymous with innovation in broadcast graphics, has now etched his presence in the literary domain as well. Recognizing his exceptional contribution to ICT literature, Nahid was recently honored with the South Asia Cine Golden Star Award 2025, marking yet another milestone in his multifaceted career. The award was a celebration of his decades-long commitment to merging technology with the written word—a rare and inspiring combination in today’s media landscape.
The prestigious award ceremony took place on July 6, 2025, at the office of Daily Swadesh Bichitra in Motijheel, Dhaka. Organized jointly by the South Asia Literary Council and Sundarban Sahitya Sanskritik Parishad, the event brought together writers, journalists, and cultural figures from across the country. Sk Monoar Nahid received the award from two esteemed guests: M. Ibrahim Patwari, the Associate Editor of Daily Swadesh Bichitra and Chairman of the Bangladesh Society for Environmental and Human Rights Implementation, and Md. Azgar Hossain, the founding coordinator of the organizing body and senior reporter of the same newspaper.
What made this award stand out was the meticulous selection process. An independent jury panel, appointed by the organizers, evaluated each nominee based on several criteria including the long-term influence of their literary work, quality and volume of publications, innovation in information technology and environmental thought, social impact, and the reach of their contributions both nationally and internationally. Through this transparent and rigorous evaluation, Nahid emerged as the deserving winner—acknowledged for his exceptional blend of technical insight and literary expression.
Sk Monoar Nahid’s journey as a writer began remarkably early. At just six years old, he published his first poem titled Brishti (“Rain”) in the Khulna-based daily newspaper Dainik Purbanchal in 1987. What started as a child’s poetic imagination has now evolved into a powerful voice in technology-focused literature. Today, Nahid is not only a broadcast graphics visionary but also an internationally recognized writer whose work bridges the gap between creativity and innovation.
Over the years, Nahid has authored influential books that explore the convergence of media, technology, and social responsibility. His book Creatives in the Television Broadcast Industry has become a resourceful guide for young professionals and students navigating the ever-changing world of TV graphics. Meanwhile, his second book Guardians of Earth: Simple Steps to a Sustainable Future reflects his commitment to environmental awareness and digital ethics—proving that his pen is as powerful as his visual designs.
The South Asia Cine Golden Star Award serves not just as recognition of Nahid’s literary contributions, but as a reminder that technological professionals, too, can shape thought and influence culture. Nahid’s writings are known for their clarity, depth, and practical relevance, especially in a world increasingly dominated by AI, automation, and environmental concerns. His work offers a fresh perspective on how media and literature can drive societal progress.
From a young poet in Khulna to an award-winning author and broadcast graphics innovator, Sk Monoar Nahid’s story is one of relentless creativity, vision, and purpose. This award is another feather in his cap, solidifying his place as a literary force in the realm of ICT—a rare fusion of technology and storytelling that continues to inspire across South Asia and beyond.
