Molten Core is one of the most iconic raid zones in the history of World of Warcraft. Hidden beneath the Burning Steppes, deep within Blackrock Mountain, lies this cavernous domain of fire and stone. It is here that Emperor Thaurissan summoned the elemental Firelord, Ragnaros, in a desperate gamble during the dwarven civil war. Though bound to the molten lake at the heart of the Core, Ragnaros commands armies of flamewakers, fire elementals, and enslaved Dark Iron dwarves, spreading his influence across Azeroth.
Players must be level 60 and complete the attunement questline to enter the raid efficiently. Once inside, 40 adventurers face a gauntlet of challenges designed to test coordination, endurance, and resolve. Majordomo Executus, the emissary of Ragnaros, is the penultimate trial before players face the Firelord himself.
