For Maria Gallucci, real estate is more than buying and selling homes. From a very young age, she understood that access to information is crucial for making important life decisions. Growing up in Colorado as a hearing child of Deaf parents, she experienced the challenges of navigating two worlds. American Sign Language was her first language, and she quickly learned to act as a bridge between her family and the hearing community. By the age of five, she was interpreting medical appointments and school meetings, and at twelve, she helped her parents purchase their first home. These early experiences shaped her understanding of the importance of access, autonomy, and trust, and they became guiding principles in her professional life.
Gallucci began her real estate career in the early 1990s, gaining experience in residential sales, new construction, investment properties, and builder representation. Her work has been focused primarily in Colorado, including the Denver metropolitan area, Colorado Springs, Northern and Southern Colorado, and the Western Slope, but she has also participated in national markets. From the beginning, she emphasized that successful real estate transactions depend on clear communication and mutual understanding.
For Gallucci, a client’s confidence comes from being fully informed, and she works to remove barriers that prevent people from participating fully in decisions about their homes. Her founding of Gallucci Homes and ASL Realty reflects this philosophy. ASL Realty is a national platform that connects Deaf and Hard of Hearing clients with real estate professionals fluent in American Sign Language. The platform was created to address communication gaps that can hinder access to housing and limit independence. By providing direct communication and culturally competent service, ASL Realty ensures that clients can make informed decisions without relying excessively on intermediaries.
Gallucci also established Uptown Realty Group and the ASL at Compass Affinity Group to support ASL fluent agents and encourage inclusive practices throughout the industry. The principles of access, autonomy, and trust are evident in every aspect of Gallucci’s work. Access means that clients receive information in ways they can fully understand, allowing them to participate confidently in decisions that affect their lives. Autonomy ensures that they can act independently, without being constrained by communication barriers or assumptions about what they can or cannot do. Trust is built through transparency, respect, and consistent advocacy, creating a professional relationship in which clients feel safe and supported. Gallucci views these three principles not as abstract ideals, but as practical tools for transforming the real estate experience into one that is equitable and empowering.
Her career achievements reflect the effectiveness of this approach. Gallucci is a top-producing agent at Compass Real Estate and ranks among the top 1.5 percent of real estate agents nationally. She has received numerous awards, including recognition as a Top 1% Colorado REALTOR, a Real Producers Top 1% REALTOR, and honors from Real Trends, 5280 Magazine, Tom Ferry, and regional REALTOR associations. These accolades are a testament not only to her sales performance but also to her reputation as a client-focused professional who prioritizes ethical, inclusive, and transparent service.
Beyond professional success, Gallucci is deeply involved in advocacy and community engagement. She serves on the boards of Rocky Mountain Deaf School, (DOVE) which supports Deaf survivors of violence, and the Colorado Association of the Deaf. Through these roles, she works to reduce systemic barriers and promote models that allow individuals from underserved communities to fully access housing and other services. Her efforts demonstrate how business expertise and social responsibility can reinforce each other, creating a meaningful impact that extends beyond individual transactions.
Gallucci is also the author of Raised in Silence, a memoir published in September 2025 that examines her experiences growing up as a hearing child of Deaf parents. The book explores communication, identity, responsibility, and belonging, and it offers guidance on inclusive practices that can be applied in both personal and professional settings. Through her writing, Gallucci encourages readers to understand the importance of listening, empathy, and clarity. She illustrates how communication shapes opportunities, relationships, and access to essential resources, reinforcing the very principles she applies in her real estate practice.
Today, Gallucci continues to live and work in Colorado, applying her philosophy to every client interaction and professional endeavor. Her work demonstrates that real estate is not only about properties but about people, information, and trust. By centering access, autonomy, and trust, she ensures that clients are empowered to make informed choices, navigate systems confidently, and engage fully in one of the most significant aspects of their lives. Maria Gallucci’s approach serves as a model for how the real estate industry can become more inclusive and equitable, proving that when communication is prioritized, housing equity becomes a practical reality rather than an abstract goal.
