How To Easily Spice Up Your Food With These Cooking Tips

Tips on how to have a better, more delicious meal

I love food just as much as anyone else, and during these unprecedented times, people are now making homemade meals more often. So how can you spice up your breakfast, lunch, and dinner? Here are a few helpful tips to remember.

Hard-Boiling Eggs

When hard-boiling eggs, make sure to let the water simmer first before putting your eggs in the pot. This way, the eggshells will be much easier to peel off. If you put the eggs in cold water and then bring them to a boil, the shell will coagulate to the egg white, making it harder to peel.

Store-Bought Sauce

You don't always have to follow the directions on the package. When using store-bought sauce, you can let it simmer for around 20-25 minutes longer than the recommended time. That way, the sauce will have more time to mix in with the food, resulting in a richer flavor.

Powder Mixes (Gravy, Hot Chocolate, etc.)

This tip is quite simple. When using powder mixes, make sure you add the required amount of liquid first. If you add the powder first, the mixture might end up lumpy.

Grilled Cheese

This one is a bit controversial, but instead of using butter for your grilled cheese, try mayonnaise. Yes, mayonnaise! In my own experience, using store-bought mayonnaise in place of butter is actually better. I understand it's definitely not for everyone, although I do recommend trying it at least once.
