Make Your Virtual Relationship Memorable With These 5 Simple Date Ideas!

The following ideas are sure ways in which to make your next virtual date with you significant other memorable! There is the saying, "What you put in is what you get out." Apply this to your online date nights! 

1. Dress up and show out for your virtual date nights!
Quarantine outfits usually consist of sweats, leggings or lounge-wear. So it's super easy to be lax with our dress and grooming on the typical zoom meeting. However, there's the infamous idea that if you look good, you feel good! Putting more effort into an outfit pushes you to view the occasion on another level. So please! You and your significant look good for each other. You both can maybe even do a dress theme. It may not feel like a real date because it's virtual. That's the problem! Treat the virtual date as if you're with your boyfriend or girlfriend in person. Would you really wear sweats or pajamas in a public setting with a significant other for date night? I hope not! 

2. Watch a movie with helpful apps!
When the pandemic broke out my friends and I were at a lost. No more hanging out? But then came zoom and it's option of screen sharing. Start your screen share and pop in a DVD on your laptop for date night. There's even the Netflix Party extension. This allows you to watch Netflix movies and shows together. It also gives you the option of chatting during a film or show, keeping you interactive with each other. 

3. Do fun virtual backgrounds 
This tip goes hand in hand with a dress-up theme. Set up your green screen or a solid color background and download a virtual theme that matches your attire for the occasion. This is personally my favorite thing to do. I have had a few themed zoom dinners with many friends the past year. For example, we did a travel and destination theme. My chosen theme was Italy. I did a Tuscan theme backdrop while the others did their destination virtual backgrounds, i.e. Hawaii or Japan. We each took turns learning why we each chose our specific theme and background. This definitely allows you to be creative, helping you and your significant other get excited about a virtual date night.  

4. Be adventurous and do a scavenger hunt in your home
The typical scavenger hunt is played among different teams with more than one person. That does not mean, though, it cannot be fun one on one. Each of you make a challenge list for each other and give a designated time for the hunt. During this virtual scavenger hunt you can take selfies with objects you find or simply bring them back to your video location to share later. Whoever has the most found objects front front challenge list after the allotted time wins. 

5. Take alot of pictures! 
Last, but certainly not least, make your online long-distance relationship memorable with pictures. Again, treat this virtual dates as a face to face one. Take selfies! Take pictures of all the work and effort you put in for your backgrounds. We are still making memories, just via video camera.
