Why I Got Vaccinated When I Decided Not To [COVID-19 Impact]

Importance of getting vaccinated to eradicate the most recent deadly disease of the century

It's been over a year now, we are still in the era of covid-19 and still trying to survive just like our primitive ancestors did. The common thing between us and our primitive ancestors is, to find a way of survival. They discovered tools and fire, and our scientists are trying to discover the best vaccines they possibly could to save the human race.

We as a proletarian, trying to manage and adjust our way of living as days progress. Now schools have gone hybrid. A remote culture has just started almost everywhere. Some companies are realizing it as an efficient way of budget control. And, employees too are enjoying their more relaxed way of working, without the hassle of driving to work, and are also able to take a nap or have some time to nag their kids too.

Why you should get vaccinated

1. Reduce the death rate

With more than 3.91 million people dying all over the world and it is not only the Covid-19 that is to be blamed here, but it's more because of its fear. Hospitals and the medical system were on a verge of collapse. Medical practitioners were breaking down emotionally after every human-life failure, with news channels reporting us 24/7, giving us the update on the situation, we were somehow aware of the daily numbers.

Covid-19 vaccines announcements were like the ray of sunshine on a cloudy dark day for us.

Vaccinated people aren't supposed to die from Covid-19, but if they get infected, it should only bother them for just a few days and eventually should recover quickly.

My family had a very close encounter with this disease. My father was vaccinated whereas my mother and my brother weren't. Me and my husband were helplessly keeping track of their health every day from the USA. Flights to India were canceled. My parents literally told me " do not step in here at this moment, stay where you are''. I couldn't help. The situation was terrible.

My father recovered within a week, he had a low-grade fever for a couple of days and his ailment was just for a week. He just had symptoms like weakness and loss of taste and smell. Whereas, my mother and brother's suffering was prolonged. Their fever started coming down only after the 12th day. The situation was difficult for me too, to just sit back and watch. It's definitely should be called "a lonely disease".

However, feeling blessed that they have recovered and doing well now.

With my full solidarity, I understand, there are families dealing with death in the family where situations are much worse.

Vaccination is the only way of survival for us at the moment.

2. To reduce emotional/mental Stress

With so much happening all around the world, there needs to be something that finally de-stresses us after a year-long emotional and mental turmoil. It's the covid-19 vaccines to our rescue finally. The news channels, social media, newspapers, magazines were all over with the Covid-19 updates, our minds got stuffed with all sorts of information regarding the pandemic, that we were literally intimidated to step out of our home horizon. The sunshine seemed to be peeping only through our windows and glass doors. The indelible year 2020, made its mark in history.

Literally, everything got halted. Schools, offices, flights, rail stations, and even restaurants. People were agitated by the prolonged home arrest that few barred from the acceptance of the existence of a virus known as coronavirus. Erupted from China in the year 2019, outspread much rapidly across the whole planet, and by April 2020 engulfed every country. People of Chinese origin started facing fierce agitation in the US. They were perceived as a threat to society. Groups of Asian people started their own marches and protest against such treatment from society.

The alcohol brand "Corona" somehow found itself related to coronavirus eventually. The business tried its best to make people realize it's safe to consume this alcohol. Their advertisements were all over the television and newspapers, making people aware and realize the safety of their brand.

People were confused and frustrated with the Idea of living with coronavirus. Rumors and misinformation were spreading across the United States.

It is only after the announcement of the Covid-19 vaccine, people in the states got the affirmation that the situation is under control.

We were so relieved by Dr. Fauci's swift step towards vaccinating the population. Our sense of getting back to normalcy found its horizon, finally.

3. Immunization

Vaccines are meant to build the defense system of our body. It is similar to a kingdom or a country building its defense against any attack from a foreign country or kingdom. Let's put it this way, coronavirus wants to kill and/or make the human system weak internally.

People getting the vaccine, basically prepare themselves for the attack. It is meant to win the battle against Covid-19.

Countries all over the world are racing to get their people vaccinated. The chances of spreading the virus are minimal to none, for people who are vaccinated. If a vaccinated person gets the virus, the recovery is quick and suffering is minimal.

4. Bring back normalcy

With things being all halted for a span of two years now, things look like doomsday and apocalypse scenarios. We all prayed and wished for something which could bring us back to our usual state of living.

So how do we bring back normalcy?

It is the vaccination that finally made it possible. After a fearful one and half years, we are slowly starting to get the courage of getting back to normalcy. Restaurants have started their indoor capacity. Flights are making their moves. Schools have moved from hybrid to full-time. Offices have opened for their employees. Mask mandates have been eased in some states in the united states.

However, it's a long way to the future, where everything is back to normal again. There are countries like India and Japan still fighting the war against Covid-19. Until unless Covid-19 is eradicated from all over the world, our win against it, is almost nill.

5.To protect each other

It is the basic human instinct of helping and protecting each other which comes into mind after facing a horror situation for more than a year. TV news channels and social media were a great help in giving an update on the number of people dying, demographics of people dying, and age groups of those who are dying.

Age groups 60+ are more vulnerable to this disease. Protecting the elderly became our mission. Governments all across the globe raced towards vaccination.

Getting vaccinated helps prevent spreading the virus and fight against it internally when infected with it.

Grandchildren have started visiting their vaccinated grandparents. People started visiting their elderly parents after a year-long wait.
