The Absolute Best Hair Masks For Thirsty Curls: Trust Me Your Curls Will Thank You

Having dry curly hair can be exhausting at times. When you need to quench the thirst of your curls these are the masks to turn to.

As you may or may not know, curls need lots of love and moisture to keep them from becoming frizzy or damaged. Finding the perfect hair products that are not only CG-friendly (Curly Girl) but don't have lots of chemicals can be a chore. In my experience, the product can make my hair feel great but has too many unnecessary ingredients that aren't bettering my hair.

One day I discovered Raw Sugar's hair masque line from Target and life was never the same.

When curly-gals find THE product, we use it for the rest of our lives. It's what we call our "holy grail" products. Our ride or die if you will. Raw Sugar products are my holy grail items.

What better place to shop for hair products than Target! Target has a great lineup of organic and natural hair products for each type of curly girl. You can have waves, curls, and coils, and Target will have something for your hair type. Before you assume this is an ad for Target fear not, it's just a great and affordable option if you already shop there.

Raw Sugar All That Shine Hair Masque

I came across this brand and immediately fell in love. This masque is AMAZING! It makes my constantly thirsty curls soak up all the moisture and actually keep the moisture within my hair. It moisturizes my curls and keeps them hydrated days after usage. Usually, I'll keep a little bit of the product as a leave-in, then add more leave-in to coat the bottom of my hair, finishing up with a bit of oil for my ends. Days later, I'll rehydrate my hair and it still feels silky soft! Sometimes to get even more moisture, I'll leave it in for a bit longer than the standard 5 minutes. The added time gives my curls a bit more of a treatment.

I believe every curly girl should try this mask! It contains grapefruit, purple kale, lemon, and orange peel oil. Lots of yummy ingredients to give our curls that added TLC for the week.

Unfortunately, Target discontinued this brand but, I was able to find mine in TJ Maxx stores. You might be able to find it in other stores similar to TJ Maxx like Marshalls or even Ross for Raw Sugar hair masques. If you want a comparison, it's similar in texture to Shea Moisture's Grapefruit Complex line that sadly was discontinued.

Here is a video to see how the product works in action.

If you can't find this particular product, Raw Sugar has other hair masques to try out.

Dabur Vatika Black Seed Deep Conditioning Hair Mask

You might be asking yourself, what is black seed oil and what does it do for the hair? Black seed oil, sometimes called "black cumin," or Nigella sativa, is said to promote healthy hair growth. The seed is a great source of nourishment for the hair and scalp. However, many health advisors encourage using the black seed oil with a carrier oil to get the maximum benefits.

I use this deep condition treatment when my hair needs some extra TLC. At times I get lazy and don't want to sit under the dryer, so instead, I'll wrap a warm towel over my head. You leave it in your hair for 15 minutes, either wrapped up in a towel or under the dryer. If your hair is on the drier side like mine, keep the treatment in your hair for an extra 15 minutes to an hour. You can thank me later.

After the treatment, my hair feels so much softer and elastic. As my hair can tangle easily, I find both this mask and the Raw Sugar one helps a lot with those issues. As you don't need a lot of this product to cover your whole head, this mask lasts a long time. Trust me I have long hair & it doesn't take much.

You can find this product on Amazon and at your local Asian grocery stores.

There are tons of different hair masks out in today's markets that it can get overwhelming to find the right one. And when you not only have curly hair but dry and tangled hair, finding products that work for all your needs is challenging. Thankfully more brands are realizing the importance of using natural ingredients to better our hair and the environment. I hope these hair masks will inspire you to test them out!
