If you have been keeping up with our coverage of Kyle Busch's Xfinity Series campaign, you will know he has been chasing that 100th Xfinity Series win all year. After discussing last week's Texas win, we had a feeling that this return to Nashville would be a competitive one for the younger Busch brother.
On Saturday, June 19th, 2021, Kyle Busch finally got his 100th Xfinity Series win. Leading a race-high 122 of 189 laps, he had a dominant performance and secured the record-setting win.
Although this is the second week in a row that he has had to hold off Justin Allgaier, he did it successfully, narrowly squeaking out a win by a 1.11-second margin. The historic win was extremely profound for Busch, who has spent a lot of time and energy in NASCAR's lesser series over the last decade.
Busch did acknowledge the excitement of the situation. “I remember growing up as a kid and watching (NASCAR Hall of Famer) Mark Martin win every week in that 60 car, just the domination he had,” he said. “And he’s No. 2 with 49 wins."
